Spring 2017 supervisor and student training sessions

Faculty and supervisors of student workers are invited to see the following list of student professional and personal development opportunities as well as supervisor trainings for Spring 2017. We kick off the semester early with our first training, Accessibility in Employment, Jan. 4.  Students must RSVP to JobCat 2.0; supervisors must RSVP using the link provided (Please note if you have trouble using the RSVP link, please clear your cookies and try again. The RSVP form for supervisors should not ask you for a password. The link for supervisors encompasses registration for all supervisor workshops; you only need to click on the link once to register for multiple workshops)

Because Generation Z-ers were born in the height of the Internet Age, they are more diverse, driven, and tech-savvy than ever.  Learn about how the typical Generation Z-er views work and how to best communicate and manage students of this generation. RSVP as space is limited

Student Personal and Professional Development Workshops

Feb. 7 from 4 to 5 p.m.: Get a Job! A Guide to On Campus Employment, CCPD Conference Room, Reid 150

Participants will learn about eligibility requirements for on-campus employment, the departments which hire the most students, types of jobs that can be found on campus, the best time to apply, and a brief overview of how to use JobCat. Please RSVP to JobCat 2.0 as space is limited.


March 2 from 4 to 5 p.m.: Personal Finances: The Basics in Budgeting, CCPD Conference Room, Reid 150

Learn how to budget your money using budgeting spreadsheet handouts, effective ways for saving your money, and identifying needs vs. wants. Please RSVP to JobCat 2.0 as space is limited.

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have!  Learn the difference between casual, business casual, and business formal wear, and the appropriate situations for each.  Please RSVP to JobCat 2.0 as space is limited.


April 6 from 4 to 5 p.m.: Customer Service: An Employer’s Perspective, CCPD Conference Room, Reid 150
