Mark Haskett, director of photography and videography services in WCU’s Office of Communications and Public Relations, entered an image he had taken of a snowy campus scene in a winter-theme photo contest sponsored by the magazine Inside Higher Ed, and won.
As a result, the photo – identifying WCU as the location where it was taken – is currently featured on the magazine’s Twitter page and Facebook page and will be the main photograph in the publication’s holiday greeting card, where Haskett also will be credited.
“I am happy that the university will get the benefit from having our photo selected for the card,” he said. He expects to receive some samples of the card from the magazine.
Haskett said he was encouraged to enter the contest by Carol Burton, WCU’s associate provost for undergraduate studies.
