Hunter Library marking Open Access Week with daily tasks for faculty

Western Carolina University’s Hunter Library is sponsoring daily tasks through Friday, Oct. 28, to help faculty boost their scholarly profile as part of the library’s celebration of Open Access Week.

Open Access Week, a global event entering its ninth year, provides an opportunity for the academic and research community to learn about the potential benefits of open access, said Elizabeth Marcus, undergraduate experience librarian at Hunter Library.

Open access to information – free, immediate and online access to the results of scholarly research and the right to use and re-use those results – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted, Marcus said.

More information about open access is available at Information about daily tasks is available in the announcements section of the library website.
