Dills, Whitfield chosen to participate in Homegrown Leaders program

Angela Dills, Gimelstob-Landry Distinguished Professor in Regional Economic Development, and Meredith Whitfield, director of external relations, are among 36 participants chosen for “Homegrown Leaders,” a program of the North Carolina Rural Center.

The training series includes all-day sessions once each month, October through December. Sessions will be held in Sylva, Cherokee and Franklin.

Presentations for the first session will cover topics such as “Regional Data and Trends – How We Use and Apply the Data,” “Building Blocks of Economic Development Overview,” “Collaborative Leadership” and “Tourism Development.”
