‘Disability as Diversity’ Brown Bag Lunch, Oct. 5

Grab your lunch and join the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Programs for a Brown Bag Lunch Series designed to generate dialogue around different perspectives of diversity. The series is free and open to the entire campus community.

The second discussion, “Disability as Diversity,” facilitated by Wesley Satterwhite, Disability Services Director, will take place Wednesday, October 5 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in UC Raleigh Room. People with disabilities are the nation’s largest minority, and the only one that any person can join at any time. Individuals with disabilities cross all racial, gender, socioeconomic, educational, and organizational lines. Yet, disability is often left out of discussions and considerations of diversity. Please join us for a conversation around Disability as Diversity, the social model of disability, the ways in which we “disable” others, and how we can create a more inclusive and accessible university.
