Western Carolina University undergraduates will have an opportunity to meet with prospective employers to talk about full-time and part-time employment and internship opportunities during Catamount Career & Networking Day on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Sponsored by WCU’s Center for Career and Professional Development, the event is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ramsey Regional Activity Center.
“Students can build their professional networks and practice their networking skills,” said Dean Paulk, internship coordinator at the center. “We will also be hosting some valuable panel discussions for students to participate in to ask employers questions and gain more knowledge about the world of work and what employers are looking for.”
Panel session topics are “Interviewing Questions and Tips,” “You’re Hired! Now What?,” “Key Leadership Skills” and “Professional Selling.”
Students should come dressed in professional business attire and bring multiple copies of their resumes, Paulk said. A shuttle will run from A.K. Hinds University Center to the Ramsey Center during the event.
