Debo’s collection of works by writer H.D. released in paperback

A 2014 collection of works by early 20th century writer H.D., edited and introduced by Annette Debo, WCU professor of English, has been released in a paperback edition by the University Press of Florida.

The book “Within the Walls and What Do I Love?” includes “Within the Walls,” an anthology of short stories, and three long poems gathered under the title “What Do I Love?” by Hilda Doolittle, who wrote as H.D.debo book

Awardee of the 2012-13 H.D. Fellowship at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, Debo was able to spend a month-long residency there to research the work.

She has been working on a monograph, “The Necessary Past: The Historical Poem in Contemporary African American Poetry,” investigating the rise in popularity of black history poems since the 1980s.
