Cory S. Causby, WCU associate vice chancellor for human resources, has been appointed to serve a four-year term on the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching.
The professional development programming center for the state’s teachers is located across N.C. Highway 107 from WCU’s Cullowhee campus. Causby’s term runs through June 30, 2020.
The NCCAT board currently includes three WCU alumni – Causby, who earned master’s and doctoral degrees at the university, along with Douglas Scott Penland of Hayesville and Elaine H. Boone of Burnsville.
Also, Sue Nations, a WCU alumna and former superintendent of Jackson County schools, serves as NCCAT’s director of programming, and Kathy Wong, formerly WCU’s director of human resources, is working as human resources manager at the center.
