Reitz’s research examined the compositional process of “Cold Mountain,” the first opera by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon, from its earliest genesis to its world premiere in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

A more detailed version of the research will be published as a special feature section on literature and the other arts in the peer-reviewed journal North Carolina Literary Review.
