Garcia-Castanon to present research in Vilnius, Lithuania

Santiago Garcia-Castanon, professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Foreign Languages, will be presenting the paper “Foreign Language Borrowings in a Multilingual Society: The Case of the United States” at the International Conference on Sustainable Multilingualism organized by Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, in late May.  One-hundred scholars are expected to attend, representing universities from 23 countries on five continents.  Garcia-Castanon will be the only scholar representing a university from the United States.

Before his conference presentation, he will give a talk and a reading of his own poetry on May 28 at Vilnius University, in Vilnius, Lithuania, the nation’s capital.

Garcia-Castanon is an award-winning poet and novelist in his native Spain and is the author of 14 books, including six poetry collections and two novels.
