Gilman presents at national meeting

Regis Gilman, interim dean of the Division of Educational Outreach, presented about the North Carolina Partners in Innovation committee at the fall conference and annual meeting of the Association for Continuing Higher Education in Austin, Texas.

Gilman provided an overview of the evolution of the committee and the decisions necessary to reframe the primarily ‘institutional’ make-up to engage the greater business community, focusing on small business entrepreneurship and innovation and the potential for future partnerships and initiatives to enhance both economic and workforce development.

“Through the North Carolina Partners in Innovation, community colleges and universities provide regional leadership in partnership with regional leaders from business and industry, government, non-profits and K-12 education, and have hosted a series of regional higher education events for the community to support a regional strategy for community growth and economic development,” said Gilman during the presentation.
