WCU students collect donations for effort to give back to military service men and women

The WCU Student Veterans Association and Military Student Services are accepting donations to ship to men and women serving overseas in Afghanistan, with collections continuing through Monday, Sept. 3.

Donations may be dropped off at the WCU Military Student Services Office located on campus in 138 Cordelia Camp Building between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Popular items sought include beef jerky, trail mix, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, soap and puzzle books, as well as letters and cards of encouragement and appreciation. A donation of $12.95 will help pay for shipping the care packages. Checks should be made payable to the WNC Veterans Council and include the note, “For Postage.”
