Students and faculty present at national conference

WCU nurse anesthesia students worked with WCU faculty on research that they presented as research conference posters at the national conference for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists held in Boston in August.

WCU students Katrina McDonald-Morrow and Melanie Black presented research titled “Stand By Me:  Is Parental Presence During Induction the Answer to Emergence Delirium in Children?”  Students Eldridge Lee Coates and Leigh Sauls presented research titled “Is sugammadex a safe and effective alternative for reversal of profound rocuronium neuromuscular blockade in adults?”

Additional authors on the research posters were Claire DeCristofaro, associate professor in nursing and a medical doctor, and Mason McDowell, assistant professor and associate director of the nurse anesthesia program.
