Mark A. Kossick presents seminar, selected as simulation coordinator

Mark A. Kossick, professor of nursing, presented a seven-hour EKG seminar sponsored by A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Medical Education of Baylor Health Care System, Dallas, and Northwest Anesthesia Seminars. The lecture was held in Las Vegas on Sept. 4 and attended by physicians and nurses specializing in anesthesia.

Kossick also was selected to serve as the anesthesia graduate simulation education and research coordinator, a position developed in concert with the recently awarded $1.23 million Health Resources Service Administration grant for WCU’s graduate nurse anesthesia program. Kossick will provide oversight of simulation education which includes development of an operating room high-fidelity simulation lab, curriculum-staged scenarios, future research, mentoring faculty, and a control center for delivery and evaluation of student simulation experiences.
