Chemistry faculty present at national meeting

Three Western Carolina University faculty members presented their work at the 240th national meeting of the American Chemical Society held in Boston. Megan E. Arrington, lecturer of chemistry, presented “Screening for Inhibitors of Superoxide Dismutase and Characterization of Inhibition Using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy.” Carmen L. Huffman, assistant professor of physical chemistry, presented “Binding Affinities of Crown-Type Macrocycles with Protonated Primary Amines.” Jack S. Summers, associate professor of bioinorganic chemistry, presented “Inhibition of Copper Zinc Superoxide Dismutase by Low Molecular Weight Natural Products.”
