Mark Mattheis, assistant professor of communication, has shared a video created by his students of the Jan. 28 Niggli celebration premiere event online via WCU on iTunes U. The video is located in “Broadcasting” within the “Featured Content” area.
The event kicked off a yearlong celebration of the late Josefina Niggli, a novelist, poet, playwright, screenwriter and Western Carolina professor born 100 years ago in Mexico. Features included a segment from a radio panel discussion about Niggli; a slideshow about her life; a monologue; and student dramatizations of her work and in her honor.
Participants in the student-run recording came from the TV practicum class that Mattheis teaches. The video’s director was Thomas Alexander, and camera operators were Tim Alexander, Barry Brigham and Jacqueline Marshall. Assisting was Kirk Rozich.
